NEX is the largest shopping mall in the northeast of Singapore. It is a vibrant new landmark that integrates transportation hubs, leisure and entertainment, and cultural life. Driven by the local government's green and sustainable development plan, NEX has taken a series of measures to actively practice the concept of sustainable development.

In order to achieve the third goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, "Good Health and Well-being", and improve the company's ESG performance, NEX plans to monitor the indoor air quality of the shopping mall to provide customers and tenants with a healthy and comfortable environment, and optimize the operating efficiency of HVAC through monitoring data.

Analysis of key points and difficulties:

1. Real-time monitoring of air quality: NEX has a total area of about 60,000 square meters and receives an average of 3 million customers per month. Since it is impossible to understand the changes in indoor air quality in real time, it is difficult for HVAC to accurately calibrate the fresh air volume, which is not conducive to maintaining the comfort of the indoor environment.

2. Intelligent ventilation strategy: It is necessary to adjust the fresh air volume on demand according to the real-time air quality, while optimizing energy consumption and maintaining the indoor comfort and health needs of customers and tenants.

Solution:

1. AM319 indoor environment monitoring sensors are installed in different areas of the shopping mall, measuring indoor air quality once a minute and obtaining 1,440 environmental data of the entire mall every day. These data are uploaded to the local building management system managed by Honeywell in real time through the gateway.

2. The system analyzes and judges based on real-time data. When the air quality parameters exceed the threshold, it issues instructions to automatically adjust the ventilation volume of the air conditioner. During peak hours, there are many people, and the air quality is detected to be declining, and the ventilation volume is automatically increased. When the flow of people gradually decreases and the air quality improves, the ventilation volume is reduced.
